About us

MATEA CURTIDOS was created by Mr. José Matea Ruano in 1970, a person who from the beginning always demonstrated his great passion and dedication for the world of leather and footwear, being a sales agent and distributor of different international tanneries, among others Rodrigo Sancho - Valencia (Spain), being its agent for more than 40 years.

Other firms represented during these years include Antonia Fiol Ferrer, Gabino Sanz e Hijos, Curtidos Farrés y Cía., Jacobo Gomez e Hijos, among others, all of them reliable brands in the footwear and handbags industries.

It is located in the city of ALMANSA (Albacete), in eastern Spain, one of the most important areas for shoemaking.

The sons of the founder, José & Pedro Matea, currently coordinate and manage the activity of the company nowadays, opening new markets and looking for the best leathers for their product range.

Our work

WAREHOUSE

MATEA CURTIDOS, since its beginning has been working in representation, marketing and sales of finished leathers. We have 2 warehouses with a total of 1.700 m2 in Almansa in order to have a regular stock of aprox 500.000 sqft which assure our customer an inmediate delivery.

SALES AGENCY

We work as sales agents of national and international reliable tanneries.

DISTRIBUTORS

We act as distributors with some of our suppliers for selling their leathers in our area, sharing our facilities and our staff to manage a regular stock.

We also offer our clients the possibility of direct imports, managing custom documentations and offering direct prices.
